Jun 16, 2026 at 6:51 PMThe JAL Group announced changes to its summer flight schedule for international cargo operations on June 15, 2026. These adjustments affect the first half of the fiscal year 2026 and are necessary to optimize the rotation of aircraft for scheduled maintenance.
Changes in flight offerings
On the Narita–Hong Kong route, JAL’s own cargo service with Boeing 767 will be discontinued. To maintain capacity on this route, a codeshare agreement with Kalitta Air will come into effect. This cooperation allows JAL to continue serving the demand between Asia and North America by combining Kalitta Air’s Narita–Hong Kong services with flights to Chicago.
For the period starting September 16, 2026, as well as for some routes and periods that are still being adjusted, JAL announced that further information will be provided once decisions are finalized.
The JAL Group emphasizes its commitment to stable and flexible air cargo capacity, which enhances customer comfort and contributes to addressing societal challenges as well as the sustainable development of logistics infrastructure.
Flight schedule overview
As part of the updated summer flight schedule for fiscal year 2026, the number of weekly flights on various routes will be adjusted as follows:
– Narita–Taipei (Taoyuan) – Nagoya (Chubu) – Seoul (Incheon): 5 flights per week remain unchanged.
– Narita–Shanghai (Pudong): 5 flights per week also remain unchanged.
– Narita–Hong Kong: Flights will be reduced from 6 to 0.
– Narita–Tianjin: Flights will be reduced from 5 to 4.
– Narita–Dalian: Flights are currently to be announced.
– Narita–Hanoi: Flights will be offered sporadically, with specific dates in June, July, August, and September.
The adjustments in the flight schedule are part of the strategic measures taken by the JAL Group to respond to changing market conditions and ensure the efficiency of its international cargo operations.
