MyCrane on course for success in India
Apr 22, 2026 at 6:27 AMAir freight rates have continued to rise worldwide, despite a decline in tonnage. According to the latest data from WorldACD, spot rates increased by 3% in the second week of April, to an average of USD 3.76 per kg, significantly above last year’s level.
The increase was particularly pronounced in North America, while Africa and Asia also recorded gains. In the Middle East and South Asia, prices slightly decreased but remain significantly higher than last year. At the same time, global tonnage fell by 6%, partly due to holidays around Easter and additional capacities in the market.
Available freight capacity increased slightly but remains unevenly distributed regionally. Despite stable markets in the Middle East, the situation remains tense. Uncertainties due to geopolitical developments and rising fuel costs could further influence prices.
