First woman at the helm of Danish Shipping
Apr 16, 2026 at 7:32 AMBernard Geersing will become the new Vice President Europe at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo. Starting May 1, 2026, he will lead the company’s European organization, focusing on strengthening commercial performance and deepening customer relationships in the region.
Geersing brings extensive experience from his previous position as VP Digital, Distribution & Customer Service & Claims. In this role, he significantly contributed to the development of the company’s digital capabilities, improved customer service, and supported commercial performance. Previously, he was responsible for the cargo organization in the Benelux countries.
GertJan Roelands, Senior Vice President Commercial at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, commented on Geersing’s appointment: „With Bernard’s appointment, I am confident that we will take the next step in implementing our cargo strategy in Europe.“
At the same time, Robert Kunen will transition to the VP CIO Office within the IT department of Air France-KLM. Roelands thanked Kunen for his significant contribution to the cargo organization and wished both Geersing and Kunen much success in their new positions.
