GEODIS expands healthcare logistics in Switzerland
Apr 8, 2026 at 8:17 AMGotion, Green Power Morocco (GPM), and Chery Heavy Trucks have signed an agreement to develop an electric logistics corridor between Morocco and France. This project aims to promote lower-emission freight transport along the route. The planned corridor spans 2,000 km, connecting Agadir in southern Morocco via the port of Tangier to Perpignan in southern France. Currently, this route is used daily by approximately 2,000 heavy trucks, as reported by Gotion GPM.
Electric trucks and infrastructure
As part of the partnership, the involved companies will gradually introduce electric trucks and the necessary infrastructure to reduce emissions along the trade route. Gotion GPM and Chery Heavy Trucks also plan to establish a joint venture that will focus on managing electric fleets, battery swapping stations, smart dispatching, and energy storage. Initially, the E-corridor will involve the deployment of 100 heavy electric trucks equipped with Gotion battery systems. The further expansion of the project will depend on the performance and availability of the infrastructure, the company reports.
Chery Heavy Trucks specializes in commercial vehicle technology and manufacturing. A central element of the project is the development of a battery swapping solution aimed at minimizing downtime and improving the operational efficiency of heavy trucks. Additionally, efforts are being made to standardize batteries and manage their lifecycle.
