This initiative is part of the French shipping company’s commitment to providing high-quality services and environmentally friendly transport solutions. Customers will now have direct access to this innovative mode of transport, which aims to strengthen the connection between France and North America.
Direct Connections Between France and North America
With the new service, customers can now utilize direct round trips from Montoir (France) to Baltimore (USA) and Halifax (Canada). The ship is among the first wind-powered services on this route, offering an eco-friendly option for transatlantic transport.
Service Details and Environmental Benefits
The new service is designed to transport a variety of goods, including dry cargo, oversized loads, and refrigerated containers. The ship’s innovative propulsion system allows for a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 to 90% during ocean crossings.
The first departure from Baltimore is scheduled for April 24, 2026, while the first departure from Montoir will take place on May 16, 2026.
