cargo-partner renews partnership with HHLA Pure
Mar 25, 2026 at 10:36 AMFreightos has announced that the airline Air Serbia will join the digital booking platform for cargo. This integration expands Freightos‘ network and promotes the use of Freightos Pay in Europe. The new feature enables fast, guaranteed digital payments between freight forwarders and airlines in Europe, including for forwarders without accreditation. This represents an important step towards overcoming barriers in digital transaction processing in the region.
With the inclusion of Air Serbia on the platform, freight forwarders will be able to make air cargo bookings across the entire European and American network of the airline. The bookings will be available not only for the main destination of Belgrade but also for numerous other destinations such as Zagreb, Podgorica, Tbilisi, Tirana, Sarajevo, and Skopje. This opens up new opportunities for freight forwarders to expand their services.
Strategic Partnership for Digital Transformation
Sebastien Podgorski, VP Airline Solutions at Freightos, spoke positively about the collaboration: “In the air cargo sector, payments are more than just a back-office function; they are a strategic tool. By combining bookings with guaranteed payments, we help airlines strengthen cash flow, reduce disputes, and extend distribution to a broader range of freight forwarders.”
Veselin Djordjevic, head of the Cargo department at Air Serbia, emphasized the importance of digital transformation for the company’s growth: “The guaranteed payment solution addresses a critical business need for us by eliminating financial uncertainties and expanding our reach to freight forwarders in Europe and beyond. This integration will optimize our operations, reduce administrative burdens, and help us provide excellent service for our cargo customers.”
The Freightos Pay solution simplifies the financial aspect of air cargo bookings by securing payments from a broader range of freight forwarders while enabling transaction processing and reconciliation faster than traditional payment methods. This reduces financial risk for airlines and helps forwarders without an existing airline account or accreditation gain access to airlines and expand their customer base.
