Mar 20, 2026 at 10:39 AMThe members of the Association of Air Cargo Handlers in Germany (Vacad) unanimously confirmed the board in their regular general meeting on March 20, 2026. Claus Wagner, Christian Biesecke, and Patrik Tschirch (from left to right) will continue to lead the association. Dr. Jürgen Vogt, former managing director of LUG Hamburg aircargo handling, will continue to support the board with his expertise.
Claus Wagner remains chairman and enters his sixth year in office. He is managing director of Frankfurt Cargo Services (FCS) and will soon take over the management of the Frankfurt business of the parent company Worldwide Flight Services (WFS). Patrik Tschirch, managing director of LUG aircargo handling, remains his deputy on the board.
Christian Biesecke was re-elected as treasurer. After seven years in the air freight business at Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports, he has been working as Director Aviation Services at Fiege Air Cargo Logistics since the end of last year. He is responsible for the operational processes at the Cologne Bonn Cargo Center at Cologne/Bonn Airport.
Fiege Air Cargo Logistics GmbH & Co. KG has been a member of Vacad since this year and is responsible for air freight handling at Cologne Bonn Airport. The company is responsible for the entire operational handling of general cargo at the location, which serves as an air freight hub for North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition, Fiege has been tasked with physical air freight handling at the Lufthansa Cargo Center at Frankfurt Airport for more than five years.
About the Association of Air Cargo Handlers in Germany
Vacad was founded in 2007 and is based in Frankfurt am Main. The association has 15 members who operate at nearly all commercial airports in Germany. In 2025, the members together handled approximately 1.9 million tons of cargo and employ around 3,250 staff. The association’s goals include communication with ministries, authorities, and other organizations, as well as public relations work. Another focus is on the exchange of experiences and ideas among the members of the association and the industry.
