Mar 13, 2026 at 11:02 AMThe Spanish freight forwarders‘ federation Feteia-Oltra is monitoring the effects of the geopolitical escalation in the Middle East on international supply chains and has initiated additional measures to monitor the situation. Increasing uncertainties in the energy and transport markets are currently complicating the planning of global logistics processes.
The association’s board met with regional forwarding associations from Spain to analyse current developments in global trade and operational challenges. In particular, rising transport costs, volatile energy prices and increasing uncertainty regarding transit times and routes were discussed.
Working group promotes faster responses
In response to the situation, Feteia-Oltra has established a working group that monitors international developments and exchanges information with authorities, industry organisations and partners. The aim is to provide companies with current market information for operational decisions.
Forwarders are currently intensifying their support for companies to adjust their supply chains, by examining alternative transport routes and continuously adapting logistics processes to maintain international trade activities.
