Prices: Ocean freight stable, air freight rising
Mar 5, 2026 at 11:52 AMAD Ports Group announced on Wednesday that all operational activities in its clusters will continue uninterrupted despite the current regional developments. The company has activated its crisis management and business continuity protocols in collaboration with the relevant authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The aim of these measures is to ensure the safety of employees, partners, and stakeholders while maintaining services.
Operations in UAE ports
According to the company, the ports and terminals managed and operated by AD Ports Group in the UAE remain fully operational. Due to the decline in shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, AD Ports Group expects a reduction in ship calls at Khalifa Port. Nevertheless, the group emphasizes that services at Khalifa Port will remain uninterrupted. AD Ports Group anticipates an increase in volumes in its global maritime network as trade routes change due to regional developments.
In the Maritime & Shipping Cluster of the group, most of the 122 vessels, including container, bulk, Ro-Ro, and multipurpose ships, are operating outside the Strait of Hormuz. The ships currently in the strait continue their voyages within the Gulf. AD Ports Group expects the impact on the Maritime & Shipping Cluster to remain limited. The economic cities, free zones, and logistics clusters of the group are also expected to be only slightly affected.
