Feb 5, 2026 at 10:25 AMSallaum Lines has announced the delivery of the new Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) „MV Ocean Legacy.“ The vessel is the latest addition to the Ocean Class fleet and follows just one month after the commissioning of the „MV Ocean Explorer.“ This rapid fleet expansion is intended to highlight the company’s strategic focus on modern ship designs that offer improved efficiency and reduced environmental impact, as stated by the company.
Technical details and environmental aspects
The „MV Ocean Legacy“ was built at the China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Jiangsu, China. With a length of approximately 199.90 m and a width of 37.7 m, the ship can transport up to 7,400 vehicles on 13 cargo decks, according to the manufacturer. A notable feature of the „MV Ocean Legacy“ is its LNG storage capacity of 36 to 37.8 tons, which is intended to enable extended operational duration and reduced emissions during long-distance voyages. The vessel employs LNG dual-fuel propulsion technologies that exceed the applicable regulatory requirements, as stated by the company.
