Danica Crewing Services has announced the opening of a new recruitment office in Istanbul, Turkey. This expansion enhances the company’s global network and improves the ability to connect qualified Turkish seafarers with shipowners and operators worldwide.
The office in Istanbul will be led by Hasan Koroglu (photo), a former seafarer with extensive experience in crew management. He will oversee recruitment and ensure that Danica’s high standards are maintained. All Turkish candidates recruited through Danica will undergo the same rigorous selection and assessment process that applies to all nationalities within the Danica network.
Turkey is considered a significant maritime nation and is an important source of qualified seafarers. Approximately 38,000 officers and 96,000 crew members are employed in the country. The maritime training and professional standards in Turkey are highly regarded in the shipping industry, and Turkish officers are often sought after by shipowners for their competence and reliability.
As a full member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Turkey has fully implemented the STCW Convention and is on the whitelist, with Turkish licenses recognized by all major flag states. This ensures that Turkish crew meets the highest international standards and can be deployed on global fleets without restrictions.

The new office in Turkey strengthens Danica’s global crew network, which already includes Germany, Cyprus, Ukraine, Georgia, India, and the Philippines. Through Danica’s integrated platform, clients have access to a total pool of 725,000 seafarers through a single point of contact.
