Helrom completes insolvency proceedings
Jan 22, 2026 at 9:42 AMThe technology company Wärtsilä has received the order to supply engines for a newly developed semi-submersible heavy transport vessel (Heavy Transport Vessel, HTV). This ship is being built for the Swiss offshore company Allseas Group and is being constructed at the Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in China. The order for the engines was placed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Modular Engine for Reduced Maintenance Costs
The choice fell on the „Wärtsilä 31 Engine“ with its modular design. According to the manufacturer, this allows for a significant reduction in maintenance requirements and costs. Additionally, the engine is ready to utilize alternative sustainable fuels.
Sytske de Groot, Manager of Shipbuilding at Allseas, commented on the decision as follows: “This new HTV strengthens the flexibility of our fleet and how we deliver projects. We selected the Wärtsilä 31 engine for its high efficiency, future-ready design and ability to transition to low- and zero-carbon fuels, which supports both operational adaptability and our long-term sustainability ambitions.”
