Sep 2, 2021 at 1:35 PMThe transport platform Trans.eu GmbH is relocating its German headquarters to Berlin. In an interview, the self-proclaimed cosmopolitan Aleksandra Marszalek, CEO of Trans.eu Group for Western Europe, explains why the choice fell on the German capital and what she hopes to achieve. The new office is located in the city near Potsdamer Platz. Until now, Trans.eu was based in Lauenau near Hanover.
Ms. Marszalek, why is Trans.eu moving to Berlin?
From my perspective, there are many good reasons for a location in a vibrant metropolis: Berlin is one of the top logistics locations in Germany due to its strategic infrastructural position. Many companies in the transport and logistics sector operate internationally from here very successfully. Berlin is also a gateway to Eastern Europe and offers short distances to the European growth markets. Furthermore, we find in Germany’s capital proximity to politics and associations, and experience Berlin as an epicenter for the mobility of the future – also shaped by exciting logistics start-ups that bring momentum to developments. This is important for the topics we, as one of the leading European logistics platforms for land transport, are dealing with. And of course, many interesting major events take place here – for example, the German Logistics Congress of the Federal Association of Logistics, to name just one event.
What expectations do you have for the location?
Berlin and the surrounding area are characterized by high economic dynamism. The federal capital is an absolute business hub – especially for Eastern Europe. As we are currently focusing on establishing ourselves in the German market, it also serves as a kind of link to our Eastern European roots. But it is not only economically a focal point. It is also a melting pot for people of different backgrounds, languages, or attitudes. This is also a good basis for the job market – and thus for our recruiting. Many interesting professionals are drawn to Berlin. And there is also a supply of skilled workers, as Berlin has internationally renowned universities with logistics chairs. Once these young talents have completed their studies and training, they quickly find connections to the job market. For example, at Trans.eu. Although we are an established company with years of experience, we have retained our start-up mentality due to our relatively fresh market entry in Germany. Therefore, we fit well with Berlin, and the Berlin “skilled labor scene” fits us. We feel closely connected to the experimental and creative spirit of the city and are always ready for innovative approaches and new impulses.
What personally attracts you to Berlin?
Berlin is hip, modern, dynamic, a city that never sleeps. I enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, the relaxed vibe, the uniqueness of many things – for example, in art and culture. Of course, Berlin is also a historical place with an impressive history. This is combined here with a forward-looking start-up culture. I really like that.
About Trans.eu
The Trans.eu platform is based on a carrier database that has been particularly established in the Eastern European market for over 15 years. All companies listed in it have been verified by the provider and activated after successful validation. To enable secure collaboration between carriers and their clients, the IT platform has simple functions for digital order management. These include workflows for order assignment as well as mutual evaluations of the contracting parties after the completion of a transport. An integrated online messenger facilitates all communication regarding freight assignments on the Trans.eu platform. It is automatically digitally documented and archived. Thus, the platform creates additional security in cooperation between carriers and their clients through simple digital processes.
