Aug 3, 2021 at 5:56 PMJust in time for the 5th anniversary, the city logistics consultancy first mile has launched a new website. The site also includes an audio podcast. The intro and outro were produced in a Hamburg studio. The podcast features interesting guests discussing city logistics.
(Hamburg/Berlin) The podcast series CITY LOGISTICS UPDATE aims to provide guidance on city logistics: current, informative, and entertaining with interesting interviews, exciting talks, and exclusive insights. The guest of the first episode is Beres Seelbach, co-founder and managing director of the Berlin-based ONOMOTION GmbH. Other guests include Wasilis von Rauch, managing director of the BVZF Federal Association Future Bicycle, and Dirk Rahn, former Hermes manager, now at Rahn Consulting. In mid-August, an interview with Stefan Gelbhaar (Member of Parliament), Bündnis90/Die Grünen, spokesperson for transport policy and cycling, and member of the Committee for Transport and Digital Infrastructure will follow.
Second location in Berlin
The interdisciplinary core team of first mile, the practical consulting experts for the last mile, currently consists of Veit Badde, MSc (focus: regional sustainability, geographic information systems), Wolfgang Beecken (co-founder and managing director), Dirk Rahn (permanent freelance partner | focus: process optimizations, among others), and Youn-Du Bae (digital, design). Depending on the task, additional freelance experts from the fields of electromobility, urban planning, and smart city are brought in. The first mile team is supported by an expert panel, the Advisory Board, from adjacent disciplines. Ongoing projects include topics such as micro-hub planning (Berlin), loading and unloading zones for delivery traffic (Berlin), cargo bike infrastructure needs (Hamburg), and KEP market access (for a Bremen start-up). Due to positive developments, there has been a location in Berlin, just five minutes from the main train station, in addition to the headquarters in Hamburg’s HafenCity since spring 2021.
