May 4, 2021 at 6:03 PMThe Hans Geis GmbH + Co KG, Kürnach, has won the 2020 quality ranking of the largest German piece goods cooperation, IDS Logistik. This marks their sixth consecutive time on the podium. The second place was taken by the Kempten depot Lebert-Noerpel, which was also named the ‘Rising Star of the Year’. Third place went to last year’s winner DSV in Lahr.
(Kleinostheim) “We are very pleased to be back at the top of the winner’s podium after winning the IDS quality ranking in 2015 and four consecutive years in second place,” explains Karsten Oehrlein, head of logistics at Hans Geis GmbH + Co KG in Kürnach. “It shows that our commitment to quality and our continuous efforts are paying off. This includes, for example, analyzing and discussing our operational processes daily, identifying weaknesses, and being able to react early.”
Silver for Lebert-Noerpel, Bronze for DSV Lahr
Even the winners of the silver and bronze medals can be very satisfied with their results. Lebert-Noerpel GmbH & Co. KG in Kempten impressively improved from 49th place last year to second place through targeted measures to improve quality and their consistent implementation. Last year’s winner DSV Lahr stands on the podium again as the third-place finisher. “I congratulate this year’s winners and am pleased with the very good results from last year,” says IDS Managing Director Dr. Michael Bargl. “Despite significant restrictions and the rapidly growing online retail in the private customer segment, as well as the booming construction and DIY sector, we were able to maintain our stable quality in 2020. The IDS partners have excelled across the board.”Various Evaluation CriteriaAs in previous years, 2020 was characterized by significant fluctuations in volume, extremely high shipment volumes, and especially by the Corona pandemic. This was compounded by the delivery conditions that were made more difficult and prolonged due to the high risk of infection, along with significant bottlenecks in transport capacities and a rapidly increasing shortage of drivers. Each year, IDS evaluates the service quality of its partner depots to determine the quality winner. This includes, among other things, adherence to delivery promises upon shipment receipt, completeness of scanning, results of regular quality audits, and the delivery quality of express shipments.
