From now on, the company will operate two state-of-the-art hydrogen electric commercial vehicles (36 t). They will be fueled exclusively with green hydrogen from 100% renewable energy.
(Landquart) At the headquarters of Chr. Cavegn AG, two 100% electric heavy commercial vehicles are making their debut, operating silently and without CO2 emissions. For the family-owned company with over a hundred years of history, this marks the beginning of a future that is gaining global attention and offers a groundbreaking, clean solution for road freight transport. This is made possible by a form of electromobility that produces electricity directly in the commercial vehicle, using green hydrogen from local production.
Unique Driving Experience
With this, the fourth generation of Chr. Cavegn AG is once again fulfilling a promise deeply rooted in the company’s history. CEO Christian jun. Cavegn states: “The Swiss transport sector is setting the course for an energy cycle that is unique. For the first time, a complete system is ready that makes electromobility for commercial vehicles realistic. As a member of the H2 Mobility Switzerland support association, we are among the first Swiss companies to implement this promising technology on the road. We are proud of this. And I can already say after the first few kilometers: Driving the XCIENT Fuel Cell is a unique experience!” The Chr. Cavegn AG is deploying two of the first Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks (36 t) in everyday operations. Visually, the two modern trucks are primarily recognizable by the clear message: GREEN HYDROGEN – ZERO EMISSION. The acoustic difference is also evident. The 100% electric drive ensures that the H2 trucks operate almost silently.

This is fundamentally structured so that the Swiss Food Network operates with approximately 25% less CO2 emissions compared to conventional transport systems.
