Seaspan modernizes 18 ships with Maersk
Jul 8, 2026 at 11:02 AMFrench Bee, the French leisure airline, has extended its GSSA contract with Globe Air Cargo Canada. This agreement ensures the continuation of a direct air freight corridor between Canada and Paris Orly Airport (ORY). This provides exporters with quick access to the world’s largest food market in Rungis as well as to other European hubs.
The renewed agreement, which is valid for another three years, pertains to Canada and confirms the successful collaboration between the two companies in North America. This partnership is particularly important for Canadian exporters, as French Bee is the only provider that has offered direct freight capacity with wide-body aircraft between Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) and ORY for the past year. The connection between these two cities is established in just seven hours. During the winter, the Airbus A350-900 and A350-1000 operate three times a week, and daily in the summer, offering a weekly freight capacity of up to 15 tons.
Elena Garduño, Commercial Director of Globe Air Cargo Canada, a company of the ECS Group, commented on the agreement:
“This renewed agreement continues to provide our customers with access to a truly differentiated transatlantic solution. The direct service from Montréal to Orly offers a compelling alternative for time- and temperature-sensitive cargo, combined with modern A350 capacity, reliable operations, and quick access to the Paris region and beyond, through a significantly less congested airport environment. This is currently the best transatlantic air freight connection to the international market Rungis, and there is great potential for an even stronger market share in perishable goods, health products, and general freight flows between Canada and Europe.”
The proximity of Orly Airport to the international market Rungis, the largest fresh market in the world, makes the service particularly attractive for perishable goods transported from Canada to France and throughout Europe. Key products include live lobsters, snow crabs, fresh salmon, fresh fish and seafood, wild mushrooms such as chanterelles, morels, and porcini, fresh berries, specialty fruits and vegetables, as well as high-quality Canadian beef.
In addition to the connection to Rungis, the direct gateway to Orly also supports general cargo, e-commerce, retail freight, and temperature-controlled health deliveries. Customers benefit from an extensive scheduled road transport service across Europe, leading to key European hubs such as Amsterdam (AMS), Brussels (BRU), and Luxembourg (LUX), as well as reliable transit connections to French overseas territories such as Réunion (Saint-Denis), Martinique (Fort-de-France), Guadeloupe (Pointe-à-Pitre), and French Guiana (Cayenne), as well as to the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo) and the Dutch part of the Caribbean island of St. Martin (Sint Maarten).
Globe Air Cargo Canada will focus on increasing traffic with perishable goods from Canada, raising awareness of its customer’s unique Orly service, and developing additional opportunities for health and high-quality time-sensitive shipments. An e-booking option with dynamic pricing is also expected to provide customers with even more speed and flexibility.
