VDR welcomes US-Iran agreement for shipping
Jun 15, 2026 at 9:40 AMThe Spanish Federation of Freight Forwarders and Customs Representatives (FETEIA-OLTRA) has recently signed a manifesto for efficient, sustainable, and competitive maritime transport, as it announced. This initiative is supported by the Asociación de Cargadores de España (ACE) and the Spanish Shippers‘ Council (SSC). With this step, Spanish freight forwarding companies aim to reaffirm their commitment to improved collaboration in the maritime transport sector.
Strategic roadmap for the industry
The signing of the manifesto took place during the second shipper conference. According to FETEIA-OLTRA, it represents a strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening cooperation between shippers, shipping companies, operators, and port authorities. The initiative seeks to develop a logistics model based on transparency, predictability, and resilience in a changing geopolitical environment.
A central aspect of collaboration between shippers and freight forwarders is the improvement of agility in ports and on land. This aims to help optimize processes and eliminate existing inefficiencies. Additionally, the goal is to increase operational transparency and create conditions for business relationships. These measures are intended to provide all parties in the supply chain with greater security and stability.
