Jun 15, 2026 at 7:24 PMThe International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has announced that BioNatur Plastics has been awarded the Air Cargo Sustainability Award 2026 in the Start-Up & Small Business category. The award ceremony took place during the TIACA Executive Summit 2026 in Warsaw, Poland, where three finalists presented their sustainability initiatives to an audience of over 320 air cargo industry professionals.
The other two finalists were CargoAi with the Cargo2Zero project, which enables tracking of carbon emissions at the level of individual transport routes, and Goods2Load, which pursues data-driven approaches to decarbonization in offline logistics. After an intensive voting process, participants selected BioNatur Plastics as the winner to recognize their innovative approaches to reducing the environmental impact of plastic packaging in global supply chains.
Innovative solutions for packaging
BioNatur Plastics was recognized for its recyclable and biodegradable stretch films, which can be used in various disposal environments, including recycling streams, landfills, and incineration plants. This solution allows companies operating in diverse global markets to meet varying customer expectations and sustainability requirements while reducing the ecological footprint of conventional plastic films.
In addition to sustainable packaging alternatives, BioNatur Plastics works closely with its customers to quantify the ecological benefits. This enables companies to communicate measurable successes in sustainability to customers, investors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Chris Paladino, CEO of BioNatur Plastics, commented on the award:
“We are honored to receive this recognition from TIACA and the air cargo community. The challenges in sustainability require practical solutions that can be implemented today and work globally, regardless of where the cargo ultimately arrives. Our goal has always been to help companies reduce their environmental impact without compromising performance or operational efficiency.”
Award and outlook
As the winner of the category, BioNatur Plastics receives a cash prize of $10,000, while the other finalists, CargoAi and Goods2Load, each receive $2,500 for their outstanding contributions to promoting sustainability in the air cargo industry.
The Air Cargo Sustainability Awards highlight remarkable innovation in the industry and recognize organizations that develop practical solutions to reduce environmental impacts while supporting growth in global trade. Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA, emphasized the high quality of this year’s finalists and the industry’s growing commitment to developing innovative solutions in sustainability.
TIACA encourages companies in the air cargo supply chain to prepare for the Air Cargo Sustainability Awards 2027, where companies of all sizes will again have the opportunity to showcase their innovations and compete for cash prizes. More information on categories, nomination criteria, and deadlines for the upcoming year will be announced in the coming months.
