This decision was announced on June 11, 2026, and is still subject to approval by the antitrust authority. The acquisition will strengthen the market position of the company based in Salzburg in Upper Austria, while simultaneously securing the future of the medium-sized company Keimelmayr.
For over five decades, Keimelmayr has established itself as a reliable partner in the transport and logistics industry. The previous owner, Hubert Keimelmayr, has decided to hand over the company to Lagermax as part of his succession planning. He emphasizes that it was important for him to find a solution that ensures the continuity of the company and provides employees and customers with a stable perspective.
Continuity for employees and customers
The acquisition is intended to bring continuity and security for Keimelmayr’s employees. All existing employment relationships will be maintained, giving customers the assurance that they can continue to rely on their usual contacts and the previous quality of service.
Lagermax sees great potential in the integration of Keimelmayr. The combination of the competencies and market knowledge of both companies is expected to expand the service offering. He describes the acquisition as an important step to provide even more comprehensive support to customers.
The acquisition is described as a strong combination that unites tradition, experience, and innovation. Both companies are convinced that this step will lay the foundation for further growth and long-term success.
Keimelmayr employs around 50 staff and achieved a turnover of approximately 35 million EUR in 2025. Managing Director Volker Auer will continue to lead the company. The purchase price has been kept confidential.
The Lagermax Group, which has over 85 locations in 15 European countries, generated total revenue of 760 million EUR in 2025 and employs around 4,000 staff.
