Rail reform progressing in South Africa
May 19, 2026 at 12:36 PMGEODIS has integrated the „Live Capacity“ and „Air Demand“ solutions from the Dutch IT service provider Rotate into its global air freight analyses and strategic planning. This decision represents a significant step in GEODIS’s ongoing investment in data-driven decision-making within its international air network.
The air freight markets are currently facing rapid changes in capacity and demand, influenced by geopolitical factors, supply chain challenges, and the emergence of new goods such as high technology and semiconductors. By integrating Rotate’s products, GEODIS gains a comprehensive overview of both sides of the market.
Comprehensive Market Analyses through Real-Time Data
Rotate’s „Live Capacity“ provides hourly insights into global air freight supply using real-time data on aircraft positioning. This solution covers all airlines, airports, and flights conducted, including the capacity of passenger aircraft, freighters, and charter operations. GEODIS thus obtains a flight-related view of the available air freight capacity worldwide. Historical data dating back to 2018 allows the company to track structural market changes over time.
The „Air Demand“ product complements this information with a deep understanding of market needs. It combines trade data, traffic flows, and other external sources to provide volume information on all major trade routes. Detailed insights into more than 5,000 goods and critical e-commerce routes are provided. Monthly updates and historical data dating back to 2010 enable GEODIS to have a clear view of evolving demand and business opportunities.
Ryan Keyrouse, co-founder and CEO of Rotate, commented on the partnership and the importance of data-driven decision-making: „We are proud to work with GEODIS as they continue to strengthen their data capabilities. In today’s environment, the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights is crucial. Together, we are helping their teams make faster and more informed decisions in their global air freight network.“
Casper Hedemann, Senior Vice President Global Air Freight at GEODIS, also emphasized how the collaboration helps the company improve its market analyses and operations: „The air freight market is becoming increasingly dynamic, and it is important that we keep pace. Working with Rotate has been valuable, not only because of their data capabilities but also due to the close collaboration with their team. This combination helps us drive a data-driven approach across the organization.“
