
SBB restructures freight transport

The agreement was published on May 14, 2026, in New York and Hong Kong. With brands such as Air Logistics Group, ATC Aviation, HAE, Kales, and Wexco, the WFC, founded in 2004, is considered one of the largest General Sales and Service Agents (GSSA) in the air freight industry worldwide. The company represents airlines in marketing and managing cargo capacities and coordinates essential operational activities such as bookings, handling, and shipment monitoring. WFC serves over 300 airlines on 3,500 trade routes and collaborates with more than 16,000 freight forwarders in over 80 countries.
Strategic investments for efficiency improvement
The role of GSSAs is crucial for the air freight industry as they optimize the efficiency and economic interests of their clients. WFC is led by an experienced management team that has a consistent growth track record through organic growth and integration of acquisitions. Alex Yang, Managing Partner in the Private Equity sector at Brookfield, commented on the acquisition: “World Freight Company is a high-quality platform operating in a critical segment of the global air freight ecosystem, supported by long-standing customer relationships. With its global reach, local capabilities, and leading market position, WFC is well-positioned to benefit from consolidation in the industry.”
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Brookfield brings extensive global expertise in its private equity business to the ownership of companies providing essential services. This expertise has been built over more than two decades, during which Brookfield has transformed companies offering critical products and services.
