Cargo flights from Glasgow to Hong Kong announced
Apr 23, 2026 at 12:00 PMDnata, a global provider of air and travel services, has announced an investment of approximately 32 million Australian dollars in the construction of a new cargo terminal at Western Sydney International Airport (WSI). This initiative aims to underscore the company’s long-term commitment to the New South Wales market as well as the Australian aviation industry, as stated in their announcement.
Cargo handling terminal
The planned cargo center will cover an area of 5,000 square meters and will operate around the clock. Additionally, dnata will utilize 4,000 square meters of adjacent land. The airport will provide the site in a shell condition, while dnata is responsible for the complete development of the terminal. This includes the installation of critical infrastructure as well as a semi-automated material handling system.
Part of the investment, approximately 6 million Australian dollars, will be allocated to specialized equipment and technologies, according to the company. Cargo operations at the new terminal are expected to commence in July 2026, even before the airport fully opens for passenger flights.
