UECC orders two environmentally friendly PCTCs
Mar 3, 2026 at 11:51 AMCaptrain Deutschland GmbH and L.I.T. Speditions GmbH have expanded their cooperation within the framework of the joint venture SmartRail Logistics. From now on, the two companies will offer a daily freight train connection between Bremen and Stuttgart. This new connection aims to provide a flexible and fast logistics solution for various types of cargo and shipment sizes.
Daily Freight Train Connection Between Bremen and Stuttgart
The trains from Captrain operate in both directions between the Bremen Roland terminal and the port in Stuttgart. Additionally, connecting services to Bremen-Sebaldsbrück and Sindelfingen are planned. L.I.T. will handle the road transport in the pre- and post-haulage to transport goods between the starting and ending points as well as to suppliers and end customers in the surrounding regions.
The offering includes both conventional shipments and combined transport (KV) loads. With this initiative, Captrain and L.I.T. aim to create a logistics offering that meets the diverse needs of customers and provides fast and reliable solutions between the economic areas of Bremen and Stuttgart. Smaller shipment sizes can also be transported.
Technological Support for Efficient Operations
Captrain employs electric locomotives with integrated last-mile technology for this connection. This technology allows for direct access to terminals and rail connections, eliminating additional shunting efforts and reducing transport times. The new connection is available not only to existing customers but also to other companies with logistics needs along this route.
Jérôme Méline, Managing Director of Captrain Deutschland and SmartRail Logistics, emphasizes the advantages of the new connection: “With the new connection, we can reliably and quickly meet various logistics needs on this important corridor as flexibly as possible.” He highlights that the solution is suitable for both larger and smaller shipment sizes and takes various types of cargo into account.
Simeon Breuer, Managing Director of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH, adds: “The route from Bremen to Stuttgart is a forward-looking logistics solution that combines reliability, flexibility, and sustainability.” He points out that companies, regardless of shipment size or existing infrastructure, have the opportunity to handle their transports efficiently and environmentally friendly.
