Feb 3, 2026 at 9:01 AMThe recently conducted „eNordkapp Challenge,“ a long-distance tour for fully electric vehicles, was successfully completed by a Mercedes-Benz „eActros 600“ as the first battery-electric semi-trailer, according to Daimler Trucks. The expedition, which covered approximately 8,000 kilometers from Germany to the North Cape in Norway, took place at the end of December and demonstrated the robustness and performance of the „eActros 600“ under extreme conditions, the company stated.
Challenges of the Expedition
Participants in the „eNordkapp Challenge“ had to contend with temperatures of up to minus 41 degrees Celsius during the ten-day journey. The „eActros 600“ was provided by the Austrian logistics company VEGA International CarTransport & LogisticTrading GmbH. Drivers Herbert and Silvia Salentinig completed the route, which went through northern Germany and Denmark to central Sweden and finally to the North Cape. For the tour, the team chose an „eActros 600“ equipped with a vehicle transport semi-trailer. This transported a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, resulting in a total weight of 32.5 tons.
