Windracers ULTRA achieves 2000 km range
Jan 15, 2026 at 11:30 AMLloyd’s Register (LR) has introduced an update to its container stowage solutions aimed at enabling shipowners to reduce container losses, maximize utilization, and enhance operational performance. At the same time, the safety of the cargo is to be ensured, as the company states. The updated package combines improved BoxMax and Roll Design Assessment (RDA) notations with the latest versions of the existing „LashRightUX platform“ as well as the new „RollRight platform.“ The goal is to provide operators with more efficient loading and to address the issue of container losses during rolling, according to LR.
According to the World Shipping Council, 576 containers were lost in 2024, representing a doubling compared to the previous year. Although this number may seem small, the financial, environmental, and reputational risks remain significant, the company notes. LR’s improvements are designed to help operators manage these risks through better modeling, faster calculations, and ship-specific roll management.
LR’s latest updates introduce more detailed motion modeling and new algorithms for calculating stack loads. This is intended to allow ships with BoxMax notation to carry a higher load.
