(Frankfurt am Main) All operational businesses will be directly represented in the board of Kion GROUP AG in the future. The supervisory board of the group has appointed Hasan Dandashly (61) and Andreas Krinninger (53) as additional members of the board at the beginning of the year.
Hasan Dandashly will be responsible for the Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) segment on the board, which includes the global business of Dematic. He has been the President & CEO of the Kion subsidiary Dematic since 2018.
Board EMEA ITS
Andreas Krinninger will take responsibility for the EMEA business of the Industrial Trucks and Services (ITS) segment on the board. This includes the operational businesses of the Kion brands Linde Material Handling, STILL, and Baoli in the EMEA region. Andreas Krinninger has been the President & CEO of Linde Material Handling EMEA since 2016 and previously served as CFO and COO of Linde Material Handling.
Ching Pong Quek will continue to be responsible for the Industrial Trucks and Services (ITS) segment in the APAC and Americas regions on the Kion Group board. Anke Groth remains CFO and Labor Director. The chairmanship continues to be held by Gordon Riske.
Direct Responsibility
“The consistent anchoring of direct responsibility for operational businesses in the board is a strong organizational basis for future global growth of the Kion Group,” says Michael Macht, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. “The expansion of the board reflects the rapidly increasing importance of our growth-oriented Supply Chain Solutions segment. At the same time, we are creating the conditions for a more pronounced positioning of our ITS brands Linde Material Handling, STILL, and Baoli in the markets of the EMEA region.”
The supervisory board of the Kion Group has also ensured long-term continuity in the CTO board position with another decision: Henry Puhl (50), who has been President & CEO of STILL EMEA since 2016, has been appointed as a member of the board and successor to Prof. Dr. Eike Böhm effective July 1, 2021. Eike Böhm will retire on June 30, 2021; he has successfully built the CTO department during his six-year tenure with the group and has significantly contributed to the strong technological position of the group.
Globally Positioned Group
“We started in 2006 with medium-sized structures and a revenue of three billion euros. Today, the Kion Group is a globally positioned company that operates in more than 100 countries with a broad product and service portfolio and generated nearly nine billion euros in revenue in 2019 – almost three times as much as at the beginning 14 years ago,” says Gordon Riske, Chairman of the Kion GROUP AG. “We have outgrown our previous structure.
At the same time, our opportunities have never been as diverse as they are today,” explains Riske, referring to the current market dynamics and the rapid technological progress that is significantly changing the intralogistics industry. “We want to respond to this positive development. By directly anchoring the Operating Units in the board, we will utilize our technological capabilities and resources as well as our global sales and service units even more efficiently in the future. The goal of our ‘Kion 2027’ strategy is to further strengthen our competitive position,” explains the CEO. “The supervisory board has created important prerequisites for this.”
