Jul 10, 2026 at 8:39 AMGlobal Air Transport (GAT), a private aviation service provider from Libya, has launched a new cooling facility at Mitiga International Airport (MJI), which is particularly significant for the transport of pharmaceuticals, perishable goods, and other temperature-sensitive cargo. According to a GAT partner, the globally active GSA Strike Aviation, this represents a significant advancement for the transport of temperature-sensitive goods in the North African country.
Improved infrastructure for the cold chain
The reliable infrastructure for the cold chain includes not only storage capacity but also the protection of product integrity and the minimization of operational risks. These aspects are crucial to providing customers with a higher level of confidence from the moment of arrival at the airport until delivery at the warehouse. The new cooling facility will help meet the requirements for the storage and transport of temperature-sensitive goods.
Additionally, GAT is working with IATA on the CEIV Pharma certification. This certification is an important step in ensuring quality standards in the handling of pharmaceutical products. Furthermore, formal processes for handling hazardous materials and live animals will also be implemented.
The investments in this infrastructure and adherence to standards demonstrate Global Air Transport’s commitment to quality and compliance in the field of specialized cargo handling. Strike Aviation emphasizes the importance of partners who continuously invest in operational reliability and long-term service improvements in the air freight sector.
