Silk Way West Airlines partners with CargoAi
Jun 29, 2026 at 1:43 PMHong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has entered into a partnership with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) for Paris Fashion Week Men’s Spring/Summer 2027. This initiative aims to showcase local fashion designers from Hong Kong to an international audience and highlight the role of air freight in the global fashion supply chain. Hactl thus supports not only the designers but also the sustainability goals of the industry.
As the first air cargo terminal operator in Hong Kong to act as a strategic partner of the HKTDC at a major fashion event, Hactl presented collections from over ten designer brands from Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Designers Showroom, which took place from June 24 to 28, 2026. The showcased designs, which emphasize ecological aspects, illustrate the creative diversity of the fashion industry in Hong Kong. Additionally, selected designers collaborated with Paris-based artist Yaz Bukey to create original pieces that were also featured in the showroom.
Sustainability in focus
In addition to showcasing the designers, Hactl also set up a special exhibition in collaboration with Hong Kong designer Sing-chin Lo, who is responsible for Hactl’s eco-friendly uniforms. This exhibition displays the company’s uniforms made from environmentally friendly materials, as well as wearable pieces made from new and retired uniforms. Furthermore, creative souvenirs made from old uniforms are presented. This display highlights how innovative designs can give retired uniforms a new life and attracts the attention of international fashion professionals.
To promote exchange and networking, a reception event and an exclusive Hong Kong Fashion Night Dinner were organized, bringing together executives from the aviation and fashion industries, media representatives, and influencers.
Hactl actively engaged with industry representatives, buyers, and media throughout the event. This strategic involvement allowed brands from Hong Kong to secure pre-orders for the upcoming season and demonstrate how the air freight industry helps collections reach international buyers quickly and accurately.
Frosti Lau (center), the Chief Executive of Hactl, commented on the initiative: “Hactl is deeply rooted in Hong Kong and globally connected. This collaboration across various sectors has brought fresh momentum to our local fashion industry and enables designers from Hong Kong to gain visibility on an international stage.” Lau also emphasized the important role of air freight in the fast and reliable transport of high-quality fashion goods.
Hactl aims to drive sustainable innovations, reduce emissions, and promote a circular economy. Initiatives include the Zero-waste Uniform Upcycling Project and the use of eco-friendly materials in employee uniforms. Through these measures, Hactl seeks to connect creativity with global markets and advance sustainable practices to position Hong Kong as an internationally connected hub for innovation and trade.
