Jun 25, 2026 at 2:01 PMCEVA Logistics has expanded its air freight offering between Asia and the USA to meet the growing market demands. With a new charter service flying three times a week from Vietnam’s capital Hanoi (HAN) to Chicago (ORD), as well as the revival of the already established route from Wuxi, China (WUX) to Chicago, the French company is responding to the increasing demand for reliable transport solutions.
Expansion of air freight capacities
The new charter flights leverage Chicago’s strategic location as a key logistics hub in North America. Shipments are handled through a modern 65,000 m² logistics center in Chicago, which features dedicated cargo spaces, a free trade zone, and refrigerated rooms. This center is equipped as a certified cargo inspection facility, making customs clearance and transport to destination points efficient and significantly reducing transit times.
CEVA Logistics offers users of these new trans-Pacific routes the option to choose sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and to take advantage of additional measures to reduce CO2 emissions as part of the FORPLANET initiative.
Connection to Vietnam’s growth centers
The new charter service from Hanoi to Chicago is operated with a B777F and allows for simultaneous departure and arrival on the same day. This particularly benefits companies in the high-tech, industrial, retail, and e-commerce sectors. The connection provides manufacturers in Vietnam’s emerging industrial and technology locations with a reliable solution for accessing the US market with predictable capacity and fast transit times. CEVA organizes the pickup and consolidation of cargo at multiple Vietnamese locations, supported by local teams coordinating multimodal transport, customs clearance, and handling.
Return of the Wuxi-Chicago route
The charter connection from Wuxi to Chicago will be offered again after a successful year in 2025. This route is now operated in collaboration with CMA CGM Air Cargo and also utilizes Boeing 777 freighters. The service offers a stable twice-weekly frequency and allows for up to 100 tons of capacity per flight. This connection provides shippers with a way to secure the stability of their supply chains and enable reliable planning, especially in a volatile market environment.
Loic Gay, Vice President of Global Air and Ocean Transport Operations at CEVA Logistics, emphasizes:
“We are strategically expanding our controlled air network along key trans-Pacific trade routes to guarantee reliable capacities for our customers. The new charter service from Hanoi directly responds to the rapid growth of Vietnam as a preferred manufacturing location, while the return of our popular Wuxi service supports our customers‘ needs for stability in the trans-Pacific supply chain.”
