UniGroup appoints John Hartmann as CEO
Jun 25, 2026 at 1:23 PMThe Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) has expanded its partnership with the international logistics provider DSV and now offers a new weekly freight service to Luxembourg. This announcement was made during Air Cargo China in Shanghai. The new service complements the existing DSV connection between RFD and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, which has been in place since November 2025.
The expansion of the service underscores the airport’s role as a strategic hub for international freight traffic between Europe, Asia, and North America. Zack Oakley, Executive Director of RFD, emphasizes that this development highlights the strength of the partnership with DSV and positions Rockford as an important node for international trade.
According to DSV, Rockford provides valuable infrastructure for logistics providers, characterized by uninterrupted operations around the clock and quick access to markets in North, Central, and South America. Stefan Krikken, Head of Airfreight – Global at DSV, points out that the previous operations in Shanghai have demonstrated the strategic value of the airport. DSV plans to further enhance connectivity through Rockford, including the introduction of a new service that will connect Incheon International Airport in South Korea with RFD.
