GXO Logistics has extended its existing partnership with Carrefour in the field of frozen logistics in Belgium and Luxembourg. This collaboration, which has been in place for nearly 50 years, is considered one of GXO’s longest customer relationships in the region, as the company reports. The contract extension underscores the importance of Carrefour as a strategic partner for GXO, particularly for operations at the Zellik site.
Scope of collaboration
GXO operates a frozen warehouse in Zellik with an area of 43,720 m², of which 23,000 m² is used as a mezzanine. From this location, the company provides Carrefour with warehousing and distribution solutions. A fleet of 40 trucks ensures that over 700 stores in Belgium and Luxembourg are regularly supplied with goods.
To enhance operational efficiency, GXO reportedly relies on modern technologies: These include automated high-bay warehouses and a shuttle system for order picking, which are intended to enable swift goods supply and a high level of service. GXO’s services encompass the entire frozen supply chain, from storage to order picking to distribution.
