Polish railway reports freight increase
Jun 8, 2026 at 11:40 AMThe Polish Rohlig SUUS Logistics has opened a new cross-dock terminal in Kielce, doubling the operational area in the southeastern part of the country. With this investment, the company aims to expand its capacities in road transport for local deliveries as well as national and international shipments. Additionally, Rohlig SUUS plans to develop customs services at this location in the near future.
The modern terminal spans an area of 4,400 m² and is located in close proximity to the S7 expressway. The facility features 25 loading bays and a nearly 40 m long transshipment ramp, enabling daily handling of approximately 50 distribution vehicles and 40 internal lines. The company offers regional freight deliveries and last-mile services, which include carrying and assembling furniture as well as consumer electronics and household appliances. Furthermore, various transport types such as full truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and partial truckload (PTL) are offered on national and international routes.
„We have been operating in Kielce for seven years and have observed a steadily growing demand for logistics services in the region. This includes handling deliveries from various industries to retail outlets, such as retail chains and smaller shops. At the same time, local companies, including those in the construction materials sector and the metal industry, are developing, leading to higher demand for efficient transport of raw materials and production components, as well as shipping finished products to other parts of Poland and Europe. Therefore, the new cross-dock terminal enhances our efficiency in serving the local market and is an important component of the overall national distribution network,“ explains Piotr Zborowski, a board member of Rohlig SUUS Logistics.
The new branch solidifies the company’s market position in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The doubled area compared to the previous facility allows for more efficient transshipment handling. Additionally, the location near the S7 improves distribution within the region as well as national and international transport. Rohlig SUUS also plans to expand customs services to expedite the handling of global shipments. In the near future, an approved customs clearance location, a customs warehouse, and a temporary storage facility will be established. The company also sees potential for expanding its services to include warehousing and value-added services such as co-packing.
