Jun 2, 2026 at 7:50 AMLognet Global, a grouping of the freight forwarder network WCAworld, has appointed Cecilia Markez as the new Managing Director. The announcement was made during the recent Lognet Global conference held in Panama City, attended by members of the global logistics community.
Markez brings over 20 years of experience in the logistics and freight forwarding industry. She began her career in Argentina with a freight forwarder before moving to New Zealand, where she further developed her operational skills. Later, she joined WCAworld and relocated to Bangkok, Thailand. There, she worked for two years at the headquarters of the international freight forwarder network and took charge of WCAworld’s claims and financial protection program, which she led for a period of twelve years. During this time, she gained extensive knowledge in risk management, member services, and network operations.
Currently, Markez serves as Vice President for Latin America at WCAworld and is based in Miami. In this role, she oversees regional member relations and network development in the LATAM region. She works closely with members to support growth initiatives, strengthen collaboration, and help businesses maximize the value of WCAworld’s global resources and services.
Regarding her appointment, Markez stated, „It is an honor for me to take on the role of Managing Director of Lognet Global and to continue working with such a dynamic and professional membership. After many years at WCAworld and closely collaborating with members across Latin America, I understand the importance of strong relationships, trust, and practical support within a network.
