May 28, 2026 at 7:59 AMPeter Ahrens (photo) has been appointed the new General Manager of the Kenworth Truck Company, founded in 1923 and specializing in the development and manufacturing of heavy and medium-duty trucks, as well as Vice President of PACCAR. He will assume this position on July 1, 2026. Ahrens brings 15 years of experience at PACCAR, during which he held various responsible positions, including as Product Director for PACCAR Parts and Managing Director at Leyland Trucks in the United Kingdom. Previously, he served as Deputy General Manager for Operations at Kenworth.
In a statement, Ahrens expressed his excitement for the new role: „I am honored and thrilled to take the helm of Kenworth during this time of change for our industry. Kenworth has built a reputation based on three core values – quality, innovation, and cutting-edge technology – and I am determined to strengthen and advance this legacy.“ Ahrens emphasized that he wants to work with his team to develop products and solutions that meet customer needs both today and in the future.
Ahrens holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington and a Master of Business Administration from the same university.
Joe Adams appointed Deputy General Manager for Operations
Joe Adams has been appointed Deputy General Manager for Operations at Kenworth. He brings 26 years of experience at PACCAR and most recently served as Chief Engineer at Kenworth. Throughout his career, Adams has held various positions with increasing responsibility, including Director of Procurement at PACCAR and Deputy Chief Engineer for North America.
Adams holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama and a Master of Business Administration in Technical Management from the University of Washington.
