May 6, 2026 at 7:28 AMOn May 1, 2026, Rob Jacquet assumed the position of President and Commercial Director of SAL in North, Central, and South America. This decision aims to further strengthen the services of the Hamburg-based company in this important region.
Enhanced market presence and faster decisions
For SAL’s customers, this primarily means improved access to markets, a stronger commercial focus, and faster decision-making processes across the region. Jacquet brings decades of experience in heavy lift and multipurpose shipping, providing him with a deep understanding of the requirements for project cargo and liner shipping in the Americas. This supports both complex one-off transports and recurring freight flows.
In his new role, Jacquet will oversee all commercial activities in the heavy lift and multipurpose shipping sector in the region. He will work closely with the existing teams, including SAL Intermarine, led by Francisca Cruz. SAL Intermarine is a specialized business unit within SAL responsible for liner services in the Americas.
With a global fleet of around 90 heavy lift and multipurpose vessels operated jointly with Jumbo, SAL’s ability to offer reliable services is further strengthened. This enables flexible deployment and tailored transport solutions in the Americas.
