The Port of Brunswick has once again asserted its position as the busiest auto terminal in the United States in 2025, processing a total of 779,000 vehicle units and over 53,000 units of heavy machinery. According to the port authority, 731 ships visited the port last year.
Economic significance
Governor Brian Kemp emphasized the role of the Georgia Ports Authority in strengthening the economic position of the state during the „Georgia International Trade Conference.“ In his opening remarks, he stated that innovation and investment in port infrastructure are crucial for positioning Georgia as a business location. Kemp highlighted that the ports serve as an economic engine for the entire state and that continuous efforts are being made to enhance their success and reach.
To prepare for the expected growth, several infrastructure projects are currently underway: Planned improvements include a new berth for roll-on/roll-off cargo valued at $100 million, expansions of outdoor storage for vehicles, dredging work, and further modifications to the port.
