Apr 2, 2026 at 11:08 AMTomohiro Hosaka is the new Managing Director of Ocean Network Express (ONE) Europe and Africa. He took over the position from Takahiro Kikuchi on April 1, 2026, who is moving to a new leadership role in Asia after three successful years in this position.
Hosaka brings several decades of experience in the shipping industry. Previously, he served as Director of Corporate Development and Innovation for the Europe and Africa region for three years. He began his career at ONE in 2019 as President of ONE Chile and was previously Vice President of Corporate Development and Innovation for the Latin American region.
Experience and Challenges
With extensive experience in North and South America as well as in China, Hosaka will bring an important global perspective to the organization. His previous responsibilities included leading the marketing expansion of NYK Line in China and overseeing RoRo operations in the Americas.
In a statement regarding his appointment, Hosaka said, „It is an honor for me to take on this new leadership role during such a dynamic time for ONE. While the industry faces significant global challenges, my main priority is to ensure that our service standards remain lean and agile to meet the evolving needs of our customers at the highest level.“

In his new role, Hosaka will be supported by the board members of ONE Europe and Africa: Stanley Smulders (Product and Network), Dan Miura (Marketing and Sales), and Masashi Hamada (Corporate Development and Innovation).
