GXO Logistics appoints Mark Suchinski as CFO
Mar 25, 2026 at 3:12 PMThe CMA CGM Foundation has transported over 800 tons of humanitarian aid from Egypt to Lebanon. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Tahya Misr Fund and the Egyptian government to support vulnerable populations in Lebanon. The entire logistics chain for the delivery of the aid was organized by the foundation.
The aid transported in 53 containers includes medical supplies, pharmaceutical products, and hygiene kits. The transport began with the assembly of the aid under the auspices of the Tahya Misr Fund, followed by a rail transport to the terminal in Alexandria. From there, the goods were shipped on the vessel „CMA CGM Sahara“ to Beirut.
Scope of Humanitarian Aid
The 53 containers contain not only medications and pharmaceutical products but also food, non-food items, and necessary equipment and materials to support displaced persons. This solidarity action aims to facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to the Lebanese authorities and organizations operating on the ground. It also highlights the efficiency of integrated humanitarian logistics.
Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation, stated: “Through this operation, the foundation is putting the maritime and logistical expertise of the CMA CGM Group at the service of Egypt, in solidarity with Lebanon. This reflects the essence of the CMA CGM Foundation: supporting those involved in humanitarian aid.”
The current delivery follows a previous humanitarian action in which an aircraft from the CMA CGM Air Cargo fleet was mobilized to transport 60 tons of urgent humanitarian aid from France to Lebanon. The CMA CGM Foundation reaffirms its commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts in Lebanon.
