Environmental Goals in Focus
Bjørn Engelsen, Terminal Director of Yilport Oslo Terminal, stated that the decision to opt for electric reachstackers was made to further reduce CO₂ emissions and advance the company’s environmental goals. Additionally, it was important that the machines ensure the required uptime and performance for terminal operations. Engelsen expressed confidence that the combination of a strong service partnership, proven reliability of Kalmar equipment, and the performance data provided would support the terminal’s operational success.
Bredo Steen-Gundersen, Country Director of Kalmar in Norway, emphasized the appreciation for the long-standing relationship with Yilport and the joint development. He highlighted that the transition of the fleet from diesel to eco-machines and now to fully electric solutions underscores Yilport’s commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions.
