Mar 18, 2026 at 2:58 PMThe Greek companies HarborLab and Danaos Management Consultants have decided to collaborate with the aim of optimizing cost management in port operations through a fully automated solution. This integration represents a significant advancement in maritime technology and is intended to enhance the efficiency of operations for the clients of both companies.
Through this cooperation, HarborLab’s platform will be directly connected to Danaos‘ Port Expenses Module. Unlike traditional integrations that rely on XML files and require manual interventions, this new solution enables automated, real-time data synchronization between the two systems. This is expected to simplify the process from the initiation of a port call to approvals and financial reporting while reducing errors and increasing transparency.
Antonis Malaxianakis (photo), founder and CEO of HarborLab, commented on the partnership: „Danaos is the most widely used ERP system in the Greek shipping market, and we are pleased to announce the successful full integration of our systems.“ This collaboration allows clients to fully automate their cost management processes in the port and obtain faster approvals.
Automation of Port Operations
The integration provides a comprehensive solution for maritime companies using Danaos as their ERP system. Port call details are automatically transferred to HarborLab’s platform, enabling a swift initiation of agency appointments. Once the appointments are confirmed, all relevant details, approvals, and allocations are synchronized back into the Danaos system, ensuring a seamless data flow without manual interventions.
Additionally, the integration of the Protocol Modules enhances cost control through automated invoice verification workflows and allows access to all financial data necessary for efficient closing reporting. This automation is intended to help accounting and operations teams work more effectively, make informed decisions, and shorten deadlines for financial reporting.
Nikolas Theodosiou, CEO of Danaos Management Consultants S.A., emphasized the importance of the partnership: „Our collaboration with HarborLab demonstrates our commitment to providing the maritime community with a comprehensive ecosystem of capabilities.“ By integrating the platforms, operational efficiency will be increased, and clients will be equipped with the necessary tools to tackle the challenges of modern shipping.
The elimination of manual data imports and the automation of all processes offer clients benefits such as faster approvals and a seamless user experience. This transparency and traceability are expected to reduce administrative burdens and allow clients to focus on their core operations while maintaining full control over their financial data.
