Arvato acquires THINK Logistics in Canada
Mar 16, 2026 at 2:37 PMThe Irish IAT Leasing has announced the acquisition of ten Airbus A330F aircraft, currently leased to Amazon Air and operated by Alaska Airlines. The aircraft were purchased by funds managed by ALTAVAIR and financed on behalf of funds managed by Blue Owl Capital, through MUFG. IAT Leasing will take over the ongoing management of the lease agreements and asset management.
Portfolio Expansion and New Partnerships
This transaction represents another step for IAT Leasing, as it enables the company to manage a portfolio of wide-body freighter aircraft. This marks the beginning of a new business relationship with Amazon and strengthens the existing partnership with Alaska Airlines. Additionally, IAT Leasing’s portfolio will be further expanded through collaboration with Blue Owl.
The acquisition builds on an announcement from January 2026, in which IAT and Blue Owl announced their entry into Rolls-Royce’s LessorCare+ program. This program aims to strengthen the relationships between the parties involved and improve the security of the aircraft in question.
Martin Browne, CEO of IAT Leasing, commented on the transaction: “The acquisition of ten A330 freighter aircraft leased to Amazon Air brings us into a new asset class and positions IAT immediately as a significant lessor of freighter aircraft worldwide. This is a crucial step in scaling and diversifying our platform and solidifies our reputation as a reliable trading partner, regardless of the size of the transaction.”
Daniel Rosato, Managing Director in the Alternative Credit sector at Blue Owl, stated: “We are pleased to pursue this significant transaction with IAT Leasing. This acquisition represents an attractive expansion into a freighter variant that we expect will drive the freight market for decades to come.”
Tye Holmes, Head of Aviation Origination for EMEA at MUFG, emphasized the importance of collaboration: “MUFG is proud to support IAT and Blue Owl in this significant fleet acquisition. Providing structured financing within a tight timeframe reflects the strong collaboration among all parties.”
