The logistics services provider Arvato is accelerating the introduction of robotics solutions through a strategic partnership with the technology company Unchained Robotics. The aim is to integrate modular and manufacturer-independent robotics systems more quickly into logistics and fulfilment processes. As part of the cooperation, Arvato is taking a minority stake in the company from Paderborn (Germany).
Robots won’t be used in isolation but rather serve as part of comprehensive automation and scaling concepts. In the coming years, Arvato plans to introduce a treble-digit number of robots in logistics and fulfilment environments. New applications will be developed based on specific use cases and tested under real operating conditions.
The partnership is also focused on international expansion. In addition to European locations, markets such as the USA are coming into focus, where increasing automation requirements and dynamic e-commerce structures create new opportunities for flexible robotics solutions.
