Feb 12, 2026 at 8:02 AMPrimeFlight Aviation Services has acquired GAT Airline Ground Support. The acquisition represents a significant step in PrimeFlight’s growth strategy. GAT, headquartered in Peachtree City, Georgia, offers comprehensive ground handling, cargo handling, and catering services under the Sky Café brand. The company employs approximately 6,000 people and operates at nearly 70 airports across North America.
Charlotte Cheatham, COO and EVP of PrimeFlight, commented on the acquisition: “We are very pleased to welcome the GAT team to PrimeFlight. This transaction underscores our long-term commitment to providing our airline partners with top-notch aviation services.” She emphasized that the acquisition significantly expands PrimeFlight’s ground handling capabilities and deepens relationships with airline partners through the integration of complementary services and locations.
With the acquisition, PrimeFlight becomes a more diversified provider of aviation services. Following the completion of the transaction, the company now operates at over 250 airports and service locations across six continents. The integration of GAT allows PrimeFlight to expand its existing offerings in fueling, ground handling, cargo handling, as well as GSE manufacturing and maintenance. The new locations and long-standing customer relationships of GAT strengthen PrimeFlight’s position for future success.
Mike Hough, CEO of GAT, commented on the acquisition: “We are excited to become part of one of the largest aviation and ground handling organizations in the world that shares our commitment to people, safety, and operational excellence.” He added that the collaboration will create a stronger future for employees, customers, and the industry as a whole.
PrimeFlight plans to retain the Sky Café brand and its operations for the catering service, while the remaining operations and brands of GAT will be fully integrated into PrimeFlight in the coming months.
