Feb 4, 2026 at 11:38 AMCargoLand by LGG has strengthened its position as a leading European logistics center for pharmaceuticals through a new partnership with Emirates SkyCargo. Starting in 2026, Emirates SkyCargo will serve LGG with five weekly cargo flights using Boeing 777 aircraft. This marks the company’s first new cargo destination in 2026 and significantly increases capacity for temperature-sensitive health goods.
Three of the five weekly flights connect LGG with Chicago O’Hare Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai. This connection creates an intercontinental corridor for shipping pharmaceuticals between Europe, North America, and the Middle East. An important strategic partner in logistics plays a central role in organizing pharmaceutical transports and ensuring compliance with strict cold chain requirements throughout the transport process. This is done in close coordination with LGG’s specialized infrastructure for pharmaceuticals and the around-the-clock availability of cargo flights.
Julian Sutch, Head of Cool Chain Products at Emirates SkyCargo, stated: “The global transport of time- and temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals requires seamless synchronization, stringent cold chain infrastructure, and expert handling. Collaborating with the right partners is crucial. Through this cooperation, we will quickly and reliably expand our offerings in the life sciences and healthcare sectors from Belgium and across Europe to other key global pharmaceutical markets.”
The introduction of the new cargo connections also reflects the enhanced collaboration between the airline, freight forwarder, and airport within the CargoLand ecosystem. This coordinated effort represents an important step made possible by close operational alignment among all parties involved. It strengthens pharmaceutical capacities, improves cold chain reliability, and supports ongoing business growth while providing greater value to healthcare customers worldwide.
For LGG, the expansion directly supports the market-oriented strategy of enabling vertical growth through close coordination with freight partners. Frédéric Brun, Head of Commercial Cargo & Logistics at CargoLand by LGG, remarked: “This introduction fits perfectly into the cycle of CargoLand by LGG and our marketplace-oriented approach. By actively supporting freight forwarders and their vertical strategies in close collaboration with our airline partners, we create the right conditions for sustainable growth.”
