Crisis in Spanish Freight Transport
Jan 30, 2026 at 10:18 AMThe Royal Belgian Shipowners‘ Association (KBRV) has positively assessed the outcomes of the North Sea Summit held in Hamburg on January 26, as it recently announced. The summit has resulted in a renewed political commitment to accelerate offshore wind development in the North Sea, which includes new capacity targets and an investment agreement.
Collaboration for Offshore Wind Energy
Loïc Van Staey, Managing Director of KBRV, commented on the summit’s objectives and emphasized the need for close cooperation among governments, grid operators, industry, and the maritime sector. “KBRV fully supports the ambitions of the summit. Delivering large-scale offshore wind energy requires close collaboration,” said Van Staey. The association views the role of offshore shipping and maritime construction as crucial to maintaining offshore wind capacities.
