Jan 26, 2026 at 9:22 AMThe results of a joint survey by ORTEC and JBF Consulting indicate that there are significant strategic and technological gaps in the field of logistics and supply chain management. The survey, which questioned over 3,000 professionals from various industries, including retail, wholesale distribution, and manufacturing, highlights the challenges that companies must address by 2026, as reported by the companies.
According to the survey, 68% of companies currently use a routing and scheduling (R&S) solution. However, a significant „satisfaction gap“ is evident in the market. Only 10% of respondents reported being „very satisfied“ with their current provider. 46% of participants expressed neutrality, while 20% are dissatisfied. The data suggests that nearly 30% of companies aim for integrated planning for areas and daily schedules in the next three years. Additionally, 26% of respondents value predictive estimates of delivery times.
Optimization as the Key to Satisfaction
Among the key findings is that the 46% neutral satisfaction rate is seen as an invitation to provide a higher service standard. ORTEC plans to specifically target the 24% of users seeking automated and dynamic route adjustments to move from „neutral“ to „satisfied.“ Furthermore, the survey shows that the demand for technological solutions is increasing. C-level executives (9%) and director-level professionals (36%) are increasingly driving the adoption of new technologies. Therefore, ORTEC focuses on features such as integrated area and daily planning, prioritized by nearly 30% of respondents.
