Electric Share in Vehicle Registrations in Switzerland Declines in 2024
Feb 2, 2025 at 6:12 PMThe IT air freight company allivate is launching a new digital product called “Easy Transit” at Frankfurt Airport. This simplifies and accelerates the opening of the EU shipping procedure NCTS5 and is now available in the Cargo Community System FAIR@Link. The current impetus for the market launch is the customs updates for NCTS5 with increased requirements for the participants. Over a quarter of the import freight at Frankfurt Airport is affected.
(Frankfurt) Key innovations in version NCTS5 include the registration of shipments at the item level with the specification of the 6-digit HS code (commodity tariff number). Thanks to allivate’s “Easy Transit” solution, the cumbersome collection of additional data is no longer necessary. allivate’s managing director Martina Schikorr explains: “Users simply upload the AWB numbers related to the transport in the Cargo Community System FAIR@Link. All required information is compiled there. Subsequently, the pre-filled shipping procedure is automatically opened in the customs software. It only needs to be supplemented with the driver, truck, and seal information.”
Now available for customs software Zodiak
In the next expansion phase, additional customs providers can be connected via a neutral interface. Two well-known forwarding companies have already integrated the module and fully represent the customs process NCTS5 with it. Feedback from the industry reflects for Ms. Schikorr: “Without digitization, the transition means a significant additional effort. Moreover, there is a risk that shipments will not be customs cleared if the new requirements are not implemented or adhered to correctly.”
