DB Schenker Uses High-Tech Stickers for Shipment Tracking
Mar 16, 2023 at 4:00 PMThe Federal Association of Goods Transport, Logistics and Disposal (BGL) and the FreightTech company TIMOCOM are intensifying their long-standing collaboration. The cooperation, which always focuses on the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises in road freight transport, will be expanded to include the chapter on Real Time Transport Visibility. The strategic partnership is expected to provide BGL member companies with exclusive benefits and easy access to live shipment tracking.
The demands of shippers for transparent transport processes have continuously increased in recent years. On one hand, complex goods flows and the increase in shipments and freight traffic require precise planning. On the other hand, this very complexity triggers a significant domino effect in subsequent process steps with the slightest delays. The need to keep an eye on every shipment is great. At the same time, dispatchers have less and less time to follow up on the progress of individual shipments by phone. The consequence is that the demand for Real Time Transport Visibility is rising, but transport companies do not always feel comfortable sharing their data.
“In our industry, the provision of transport data is a sensitive topic. In this respect, TIMOCOM has convinced us in several ways. Together, we have managed to adjust common practices so that transport companies can financially participate by providing their data. Therefore, we are pleased to now recommend a Real Time Visibility solution to our members that meets their expectations and requirements,” says BGL board spokesman Prof. Dr. Dirk Engelhardt.
“We are pleased that we can expand our trusting cooperation with BGL, especially in the area of Real Time Visibility. Transparent data flows will be a decisive competitive advantage in freight transport in the future – it is all the more important that we can offer users an intuitive, simple, and BGL-recommended RTV solution. In this context, the comprehensible data sovereignty and the easy management of information exchange play a central role,” says Steven van Cauteren, Director Sales – Visibility Solutions, Key Account & Partner Management at TIMOCOM.
Further details of the cooperation will be announced during transport logistic 2023.
