Mar 10, 2022 at 6:59 PMTogether with the companies Galliker and Kässbohrer, the Swiss E-Truck manufacturer Designwerk has developed and built the world’s first fully electric car transporter under its brand Futuricum. With the delivery, the project comes to a close, and another route is covered locally emission-free.
(Winterthur/Nebikon) The Swiss transport service provider Galliker Transport, the body manufacturer Kässbohrer, and Futuricum, the E-Truck brand of the Designwerk Group, have jointly developed and built the first electric car transporter. The vehicle was handed over for operation during a small ceremony. The electric car transporter will be used by Galliker Transport for the delivery of new vehicles. “With the completion of the electric car transporter, we are making a prominent statement together with our partners. From today on, electrically operated passenger cars can be delivered to the dealer emission-free. It is important for car manufacturers and us to contribute another piece to sustainable mobility,” said Tobias Wülser, founder of the Designwerk Group.
High-Capacity E-Truck for Delivery of New Vehicles
The vehicle will cover daily routes of around 450 kilometers on Swiss roads. The car transporter has a total power output of 680 hp and is equipped with four modular battery packs with a total capacity of 900 kilowatt-hours. In addition to the drive, the operation of the body from Kässbohrer is also fully electric. After use, the batteries are charged overnight. If a fast charge is needed, the vehicle can be charged to 80% of the installed battery capacity within 1 hour and 45 minutes with a charging power of 350 kW.
With the commissioning of the electric car transporter, the three partners are ensuring locally emission-free journeys in another segment of the logistics industry.
